Background of KKS

Kashyap Kashmir Sabha is a non-profit organization registered under Societies Act 1860under Gurgaon (Haryana) jurisdiction. Incepted in 1994 by a handful of community members with a vision to serve the Kashmiri community dislocated after mass exodus and to retain its socio-cultural heritage and to meet the basic requirements of community with an emphasis on education and health.

The founder members of community had a mission to reach out to community at large by meeting the KKS objectives through various activities and events. With its various annual activities, fund raising has been the very objective of KKS to support its cause and vision. The Sabha has organised various events and discussions and has evolved as a very strong body of dedicated and benevolent executive council members who are elected every three years by a democratic process. The Sabha has witnessed four elections so far and is being currently led by the fourth President and core executive body. The organization has always been meticulous about the accounts and the accounting of deeds are in black and white because the council believes that the funds raised by volunteers shall be utilized with effective and tangible output.

KKS envisions to emerge as a non-political, non-profit and selfless organization touching every aspect of the community by helping them with basic amenities to live with dignity. Our vision shall be guided by various social activities and events towards raising funds to support cause.

Create a Contemporary, relevant and sustainable Socio-Cultural platform for Promoting and educating the community of the Great Traditional Kashmiri culture.

Our sole mission is to self sustain and create a world of compassion and trust among our brethren.

Support and assist our community to maintain our social, cultural and religious heritage and to help our youth to carry them forward.

KKS was created as a cultural, social and charitable society in 1996 Provided student scholarships to more than 200 deserving students during these years. Allotment of land by HUDA to KKS for building a place of worship, presently under legal proceedings with HUDA.

Life membership of more than 450 KP families residing in Gurgaon Successfully organized Annual Havans, Cultural programmes and other events promoting Kashmiri culture and language KKS has participated in various State and National level programs and is recognized as one of the pioneering organizations working tirelessly for the up-liftment of the community Publication of in-house magazine called “Neel Nag”.
